Welcome to Acupuncture Hillsborough and thanks for stopping by!
Most likely you are here because of a health concern that has been bothering you for some time, or due to something that your doctor has been trying in vain to help you with. Fortunately, Traditional Chinese Medicine is a great alternative or complement to standard medical care for almost any problem you may be dealing with.
Although most people think of acupuncture as mainly for pain control, it has been found to effectively treat more than 40 conditions, according to the WHO.
At Acupuncture Hillsborough, in addition to back pain and headache, we help many others with stress-related conditions, sleep, anxiety/depression, allergies, and women's health issues ranging from PMS to fertility to menopause. Through our association with the Womens Birth and Wellness Center, we have also helped hundreds of women give birth naturally.
We invite you to give us a call right now for a free consultation.

What to expect?
On your first visit, you will be asked detailed questions about your health, history and lifestyle to better understand your underlying constitution and provide a treatment specific to you. Another important part of diagnosis in Traditional Chinese Medicine is an examination of the tongue and reading of the pulse. Your tongue's shape, color, and coating will be recorded, and your pulse will be examined on both wrists.
After a diagnosis is made, most treatments will include acupuncture for your specific condition. Once the needles are in place, patients merely report a tingling, numbing or warm sensation. For pain conditions, Asian massage techniques and/or cupping therapy are also applied; whereas for internal medicine conditions herbal medicines and nutritional supplementation will be prescribed. See the Treatments page for more detail.
